Deep Sun, the Symphonic Metal band, was formed in 2006. After several lineup changes, a stable configuration came together in 2011, leading to the release of their debut album, "Flight of the Phoenix," in 2013, followed by their second album, "Race Against," in 2016. In the same year, Eros Di Prisco, the last remaining original founding member, reluctantly left the band due to personal reasons. From that point onward, the band decided to continue with a five-member lineup.
Following their established pattern of releasing an album every three years, they unveiled their third studio album, "Das Erbe der Welt," in 2019, once again collaborating with the German producer Markus Teske from Bazement Studio. This album featured ten songs, offering a diverse musical range, including fast-paced Power and Symphonic Metal tracks, a German-language ballad titled "Das Erbe der Welt," and a 15-minute epic called "The Raven," known for its mood shifts, changes in time signatures, and tempo variations. The album was a resounding success, debuting at the impressive 11th position on the Swiss charts (W26/19), highlighting the band's rapid ascent. Deep Sun performed more than 50 concerts throughout Switzerland and neighboring countries, solidifying their reputation as a formidable live act. The album was released in collaboration with the German label "Massacre Records."
During the production of their fourth album, "Dreamland – Behind the Shades" (Massacre Records), many aspects of Deep Sun underwent changes, including the lineup, songwriting, sound, and logo. These changes allowed Deep Sun to discover their true identity more than ever before, and they proceeded with increased confidence along their successful path. For "Dreamland – Behind the Shades," Deep Sun teamed up with Frank Pitters, a renowned producer in the Symphonic Metal genre from Mattersburg, Austria. Frank Pitters infused the songs with a sense of modernity and freshness, propelling Deep Sun to the next level.
The album achieved an exceptional 4th place on the Swiss charts for a Symphonic Metal band (W24/22). This marked another significant milestone for Deep Sun, solidifying their status as the premier Swiss Symphonic Metal export. In 2023, the band signed with the emerging record label "POWER BLAST Records," and in November 2023, they released the single "Eternal Love" in collaboration with the label. The single "Eternal Love" is a homage to love. Deep Sun would like to dedicate this song to their fans and say thank you for their loyalty and the many unforgettable moments that they had together.
The current lineup comprises the classically trained vocalist Debora Lavagnolo, Tom Hiebaum, responsible for crafting captivating keyboard melodies, Angelo Salerno and Tobias Brutschi, delivering the powerful bass and drum combination, and Erik Dummermuth, the source of the prominent guitar riffs.
